They?ve done it in Miami, Denver, Nashville and Arizona. But Peyton Manning is not a fan of people trying to get him to come to their city by erecting billboards in his honor. In fact, Manning?s marketing firm, IMG, has sent a cease and desist letter to the folks who put up this billboard in Arizona. He wants it taken down. Business Insider:
For his part, Chuck Madler, the Operations Manager for R&S Mattress was a good sport about saying they are Cardinals fans that ?just want Peyton Manning to come to town,? and that they understood the representatives are just trying to protect Manning?s interests.
No word yet on my billboard, which requests that Peyton stay as far away as possible. Nothing against the guy personally of course, but that neck could go again at any time. Hard to believe any team would pay a bundle for a brittle 30-something QB.
