Fishing tournament raises money for cancer society

The City of Athens raised more than $5,100 for the American Cancer Society with their fishing tournament.

The first annual Relay for Life, Team Bass Fishing Tournament was Saturday at Ingalls Harbor in Decatur.

The first place team was Chris Leopard and Howard Kinch. The team caught 20.29 pounds of fish.

Second place was Zack Waddell and Bruce Lott with 18.17 pounds of fish.

Patrick Cutten and Rick Armstrong came in third place. They caught 16.15 pounds of fish.

In fourth place were Will Beutjer and Chris Rose with 15.50 pounds of fish.

The team that finished fifth was Brian Merriman and Warren Winsett with 14.39 pounds of fish.

The team that caught the biggest fish of the tournament was Eddie Jewell and Shane Jewell. They caught a fish that was 5.35 pounds.
