Hello boys and girls, I'm gonna sum down the story for you to help me out with tips and such so I can find a solution.

It's like this, I've had problems with drugs for almost 10 years (mostly weed).. This was my way to escape reality and push my feelings, bagage, emotional thoughts away from me to not feel depressed or sometimes not feel anything at all... Kinda numb state!

At this point I was going on and off if I should stop smoking and such to grab my life back and take controll... That's when she came, straight out of nowhere with open arms..

We had been together 5 years and back then I was in the same state I've been now, but younger and much more immature. But she fell for me again!

Anyways, she told me she loved me kinda right away, and after 2? weeks of dating she moved into my apartment. This was fatal attraction nothing else could make us feel better.

Before this she had been in a 5 year relationship with a guy who diden't treat her right at all and she had wanted to break up for quite some time... She had to leave all her stuff for him to take over just to get rid of him...I helped her with this and she finally left him to be with me. Everything was great and I was full of life and love.

During the time spent together, she was trying to break my wall to connect with my deepest emotions and inner levels. Sad but true, I've been hurt by another girl a long time ago and had a hard time trusting girls in general..

Now 6 mounths later, she finally broke my wall, after having me acting jelous, insecure, rude and all thoose things... She got me to stop smoking pot and made me reconnect with my feelings in the deepest way that I haven't felt for over 10 years.

But somewhere along the way, she lost herself and the attraction / sparks she had for me...We never brought this up during the time spent and I diden't realise anything of this since she wasen't telling me and I was constantly in my bubble.. Puttin her on 2nd place, struggling for smoke hole day and such.. So since 5-6 weeks ( during the time I got clean) She started hanging out with friends more then haging out with me, went out 14:00 came home 04:00 in the night, etc etc... As time passed I got more and more depressed.

Was home crying wondering where she was, stayed up confused wondering when she was gonna come home. Got jelous on her for not inviting me into her company or when she was with other guys (old friends). I even promised I would let her take her time to heal and think about what was wrong to get back to love life we we're living, but kept bringing the problem up after 2-3 days period cuz I was feeling so depressed and got no response on my love.

Finally I got to a boiling point one night where I said I've had enough. I can't take this anymore.. I wan't response on my love and I don't wanna feel depressed knowing she doesn't wanna spend time with me...
Doing so, I suggested we took a break. Moving apart and take time to heal etc etc...

In her eyes, this was the same thing as breaking up and I felt that there was nothing left to do so I agreed...For the greater good we said...

Week later, haden't talked at all, I contacted her and it was all good...She told me she loved me and missed me but diden't want us to talk like that now that we've broken up and that we gota accept and move on... 2 days after the schock came, I realised she wasen't mine anymore and that I actually had to accept this fact which made me a nerve wreck.

Started texting her, calling her.. All thoose misstakes you should not do when the break up is done... Now its been 1? weeks since we broke up, but I've been depressed for alost 6-7 weeks ever since it all started and she
took distance etc..

This made me read alot online about relationships and different of psycological theories on how the womens mind work and how I've proberly hurt her emotions etc.. Made me realise that I have to accept the fact that we broke up and the old relationship is more or less dead by now.. Tho I've wanted to meet her to talk with her.. She's been kinda "busy" but today I finally got to meet with her again and I was playing it all cool, calm and collected.

Diden't talk about anything that had to do with the past or whos shes meeting or anything in thoose terms at all. I kept it all in the light, and made her relive old memories and was fun and spontainious about everything. Got her to smile several times and she was laughing and we we're having a good time in general...

Now what I wonder is, what should I do next? Is she seeing me as a friend and a friend only, or is she spending time with me to feed of my emotions to heal herself or what is going on?

Shud I be to one to initiate contact with her or shud I try the "no contact" rule to see if she contacts me or what should I do?

I'm very confused and I really want her back and start all fresh again!

Please help me out here....

There's plenty of excitement surrounding the release of Windows 8 here at Build. The general consensus around the operating system, however, holds that the key to the OS's success is all about the apps, and CEO Steve Ballmer had no shortage of news on that front. The green-polo-shirted exec made mention of an official tweet from Twitter, noting the service's development plans for a Windows 8 app coming "in the months ahead." Also on the slate is Dropbox -- the popular storage service has an app "coming soon," according to Microsoft's own official blog. ESPN got a little face time at the event, showing off an app that'll deliver news, scores and video to Windows 8 users. Paypal, meanwhile, took the opportunity to talk up an API that'll bring its commerce services to Windows Store apps. More info on the new apps can be found in the source link below.

It?s sometimes easy to forget how much technology has changed in the last 10 years. Personally, I grew up with a generation that had Internet access from the moment it was available to everyone, nearly 2/3 of my life. At the beginning, getting online was much different. Our family computer was a $3000, large and bulky, tan colored machine that had its own room in our house. America's Racial Achievement Gap and the Toxic Mantra of 'Can't ...

It?s time to stop telling minority students they ?can?t,? and start instilling the skills and values of ?can.?

The notion that black and Latino students can?t compete with white and Asian students in school is gaining national momentum.? Amazingly, this attitude isn?t coming from crazy right wing conservatives or Tea Party zombies (conservatives and Tea Party members actually lobby for a colorblind society where the divisive politics of race, such as affirmative action, are finally removed once and for all), but from civil rights groups and so called ?social justice? advocates who claim to have the best interests of minorities in mind.

The Florida Board of Education is currently holding minority students to lower standards by stating that 74 percent of blacks, 81 percent of Hispanics, 88 percent of whites and 90 percent of Asians should be reading at grade level by 2018.? Last month, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, along with a coalition of other educational and civil rights groups, filed a federal complaint attempting to lower the admission standards of eight elite New York City schools claiming the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) is too difficult and discriminates against black and Latino students; the reading portion of SHSAT requires students to write in coherent paragraphs, use logical reasoning to answer questions, and analyze text; and the math portion requires knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry.

The notion that minority students ?can?t,? promoted under the guise of social justice, has infiltrated 21st century public education in many ways.? In addition to admissions tests being ?discriminatory,? minorities can?t compete with whites and Asians because they are being unfairly diagnosed as emotionally disturbed (there is little documented evidence of actual misdiagnosis); are being unfairly disciplined and suspended (actual cases of racial discrimination by public school officials are practically non existent); are being ?pushed-out? of schools (not a single school administrator has ever been prosecuted for forcing a child out); are faced with conscious or unconscious racial discrimination by school teachers (nary a documented case exists); lack money and funds (hundreds of billions of dollars have been pumped into schools in poor and disadvantaged communities since 1965 via Title 1 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act); and of course, the trickle-down effects of slavery (which officially ended in America over 149 years ago, on January 1st, 1863).

How much these issues are impacting the educations of minorities is debatable.? But one thing is clear: these ideas are being repeatedly communicated to minority students (and their parents) as to why they can?t compete with their white and Asian peers; these issues also seek extrinsic solutions (which students have no personal control over) rather than focusing on the intrinsic values and behaviors they can control.

In 2010, the Educational Testing Service (ETS), headquartered in Princeton, NJ, issued a policy information a report titled ?The Black-White Achievement Gap: When Progress Stopped.?? The report highlighted two periods in the fight to close the racial achievement gap in America: a period of progress from the Civil Rights Movement to the 1980s when the achievement gap between black and white students was cut in half; and a period of stagnation from the late 1980?s to the present when the achievement gap leveled off and in some cases, widened.

The first period, the one marked by significant progress, was most likely the result of desegregating schools and upgrading conditions for minorities.? Suffocating racial discrimination and the bogus notion of ?separate but equal? was tackled and for the first time gave many minorities access to equal educational resources, such as books, clean schools, rigorous curriculum, qualified teachers, etc.? For the most part, systematic inequalities were corrected, helping minorities gain valuable ground on their white peers; this progress continued steadily for several decades.

But in the late 1980s, something happened.? The achievement gap in America stopped closing.? This perplexed many education advocates because it was around this time that the multicultural education and social justice movements started to bloom.? The ETS report cites disappearing fathers, the decline of the nuclear family, concentrated deprivation, nutrition, and mobility issues as reasons for the stop in progress.

But there is a larger trend that explains why the gap has stopped closing: social justice advocates and civil rights groups have been placing too big of an emphasis on systematic change and not enough emphasis on individual transformation.? And why not?? For nearly 30 years, fighting for changing the system worked wonders (as noted above).? Tragically, however, it appears that this mode of operation is no longer garnishing the same kind of results.? Advocating for societal change appears to have hit its peak in terms of educational achievement 25 years ago.? That?s not to say it?s time to end the fight to bring equity to the system; the system still has room for improvement.

But there is a very large, relatively unexplored approach for closing the achievement gap, and that is through personal empowerment.? Personal empowerment, as in the mantra ?you are the captain of your own ship,? rather than the message that ?you are a victim of paralyzing curcumstances.?? A large majority of the country is now hunkered down and waiting for Hurricane Sandy to hit. Public transport up and down the eastern seaboard has been suspended indefinitely, and major news outlets like the New York Times and CNN have warned that 60 million people might be affected by the storm, with a large majority potentially losing power.

As many east coast residents may soon come to realize, losing power doesn?t necessarily mean losing telephonic communications, especially for those using a non-cordless landline phone (cordless phones function using electric power, so they will not work if power is lost).

Power outages can significantly contribute to the confusion and concern caused by natural weather disasters like Hurricane Sandy. With bridges, tunnels, roads, and transportation systems closed, many people rely on television and Internet to receive frequent and accurate storm updates.

But what happens if electricity goes out and citizens are unable to access these communications? Since landlines often still work long after the power has gone out, utilizing interactive voice response technology in combination with landline phone systems can offer the best way to communicate during a disaster, and can help in keeping people safe and sound.

US, Japan troops to hold drill amid China tensions

TOKYO?? Japan and the United States will hold a biennial joint military exercise in Japan in November in a move likely to further anger China amid heightened tensions between the two Asian giants over disputed islets in the East China Sea.

About 37,400 military personnel from Japan will join some 10,000 U.S. troops in the November 5-16 drill, an official at Japan's Self-Defense Forces said.

China's Defence Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun said last week China was "paying close attention to the relevant moves by the Japanese", when asked about a joint military exercise between the United States and Japan.

Yang also accused Japan of "manufacturing tensions in the region".

In recent weeks, both Japan and China have sent patrol ships to waters near the uninhabited islands, called Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, raising concerns that an unintended collision could develop into a larger clash.

Officials from Japan and China held talks earlier this month in Shanghai to discuss the dispute.

Chinese ships have been frequenting waters near the islands, also claimed by Taiwan, since Japan's government nationalized them last month, a decision that sparked violent demonstrations across China.

Japanese air force officials, meanwhile, say there has also been a spike recently in Chinese air operations resulting in emergency "scrambles" by Japanese fighter jets to keep them from entering Japan's airspace.

According to statistics released by the Defense Ministry, fighters were dispatched 54 times between July and September in response to possible incursions of Japanese airspace by Chinese warplanes. That was up sharply from the three previous months, before the tensions heightened, when there were 15 such scrambles.

A ministry official said virtually all of the incidents were in airspace over the East China Sea.

Both countries have been flexing their military muscles to bolster their claims to the islands, which are strategically located and surrounded by rich fishing grounds, along with potentially lucrative reserves of undersea natural resources.

Why Sales Needs to Align With Product Management to Win More ...

Quarter-inch drills or quarter-inch holes?

Despite relying on each other for the success of their products, the Sales and Product teams often have a jarring relationship.? This is far from ideal.? By looking at where things go wrong we can identify a better way of working with each other.? The prizes on offer: shorter sales cycles, more easily achieved targets and customers who are always happy to hear from you.

Where do things go wrong?

?What we?ve got here is a failure to communicate? (Cool Hand Luke, 1967)
The strongest business relationships are built on three pillars:

1. A shared appreciation of the differing needs and priorities of each
2. A genuine desire to help the other to achieve the best outcome for all
3. Trust in the other?s integrity

Dysfunctional relationships tend to be caused by a failure in one or more of these areas. There are actually three relationships in the mix. ?This is how Jock sees it, he?s a product marketing professional.

While we?re looking at how Sales and Product Marketing work with each other, it?s worth remembering also that each has a relationship with the customer (or prospective customer).? This customer focus provides a way to align the Sales and Product teams around value creation.

The illustration below is my perception of the relationship from the?customer?s perspective and highlights the disconnect between product?management and the customer.

Positive disruption

?People don?t want to buy a quarter-inch drill. They want a quarter-inch hole.? (Theodore Levitt).

It should be so simple: customers need something, Product builds it, Sales sell it to the customer, everyone?s happy.

Why is this so difficult in practice?? A common mistake made by both Sales and Product is that the customer wants the widget, gadget or solution that they?re selling.? Wrong! ?What the customer really needs is an outcome, for their problem to vanish as simply and easily as possible.? Your widget, gadget or solution is just one way to cause that problem to vanish.? Sometimes what the customer needs is very different from what they want.

A good Product team should be concerned with uncovering the outcomes that customers need, establishing the value of that outcome (i.e. how painful the problem is to the customer), then creating a solution that achieves that outcome in the most effective (and profitable) way.

The most successful products have always been those solving problems that customers didn?t realise they had.? These are the products that positively disrupt the market. As Henry Ford famously put it:

One of the best ways that Sales can help Product build the thing that customers really need is to have a healthy sense of curiosity.? When you meet with a customer, they will probably tell you what they want, perhaps without realising what they need.? This is understandable: the customer may not know that they have a problem in the first place, let alone know how to solve it.? This is where you come in.? Keep asking ?why?; eventually you?ll get to the customer?s underlying pain points and understand how painful they are.

At this point you should conclude one of three things:

1. This is something we can help the customer with right now.? Great!? Show the customer how to reach their desired outcome there and then.? Laser-sharp focus is needed here ? digressing into irrelevant features and benefits at this point will dilute your message.
2. This is something we could potentially help with in the future.? Bring the information you?ve gathered back to the Product team, but don?t commit to the customer at this stage.? You?re not yet sure whether a solution is possible or when it could be delivered, and broken promises are a sure-fire way to kill a healthy customer relationship.
3. This is not something we can (or want to) help with.? If you go to a car dealership and ask for a speedboat, the Sales rep will politely show you the door and possibly direct you to an optician.? If it?s clear that you can?t help the customer with a problem, move on to one you can help with.? Do provide feedback to the Product team regardless.? You never know, it may be time to diversify!

It?s worth bearing in mind that you can only come to one of these three conclusions if you really understand what problems your company and products solve and how to show the customer how they do so.? Equally important is to know what problems they don?t?solve.? If you?ve ever attended a customer meeting with an effective Product person, you should notice that they spend most of the time listening to the customer?s problems, then quickly home in on the one or two specific and relevant ways to solve the problem, which then resonate with the customer.

A market of one, some or many customers?

This leads us to one of the main differences in priority and driver between the Sales and Product teams.? We?ve explored how the Product team benefits from you being curious and asking the customer ?why? to uncover those painful and profitable problems to solve.? But they?re working not just with you solely, but with the Sales team as a whole, as well as having their own direct dialogue with customers.

With all these sources of information, the Product team ends up with many problems to solve, all competing for a constrained set of resources (time, people, budget).? Their goal is to achieve the best outcome for the company by focusing on the best outcome for the target market.? To do this, they need to prioritise the entire set of problems they could solve into a smaller set that they will solve.

This filtering process is necessary and means implicitly that not all customer problems will end up being solved.? Remember: the dealership sells cars, not speedboats!? Don?t take it personally if they occasionally say ?no? to you ? they?re balancing the needs of the whole market against the needs of an individual customer and taking into account the long-term and short-term gains of what they will deliver.

Alignment delivers results

The good news is that when Sales and Product Management/Marketing are closely-aligned and both focused on the needs of the customer, you?ll see the following results:

• You?ll be having more and better quality conversations with prospective customers who have problems you can solve there and then.
• You?ll be empowered to quickly home in and demonstrate how you can solve their problem and let the product sell itself.
• Once you?ve established a track record of success, you?ll be working in partnership with the customer to solve their problems so they?ll start to bring them to you, rather than you having to uncover them over time.

Treat the Product team as allies.? You?re both working towards the same goal, but in different ways.? Appreciate and respect those differences and you?ll enjoy working and winning business together.
