HOUSTON (CBS Houston)???Parents in the Cy-Fair school district are up in arms over a sexual education program that has been likened to pornography.

A school board meeting held on Monday night drew a?significant?crowd, all of whom wished to voice their ire with a new sex education program called ??It?s Your Game?Keep it Real!? that?s will be offered to students in seventh and eighth grade, KTRK-TV reports.

?I think it?s soft porn when they have a girl on the couch and she says, ?Let me help you put the condom on,?? one angry parent, Mayte Weitzman, was quoted as saying in reference to one of the IYG videos.

?It is shocking to me when I sit and look at this and find myself having to tell my 12-year-old some of these concepts,? added Mindy Lucas, a frustrated mother of a ?seventh grade student.

But according to the program?s?official website, IYG was developed specifically for a middle school audience.

Combining classroom lessons and computer program assignments, IYG reportedly endeavors to ?prevent teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including HIV.?

?IYG emphasizes abstinence but also teaches students how to protect themselves from pregnancy and STDs using medically accurate information,? the site additionally notes.

The ?evidence-based? program was reportedly developed by the University of Texas Prevention Research Center, in concert with both the University of Texas School of Public Health and the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research.

KTRK-TV learned that the program is intended to span two years, using real-life sexual situations and mature language to add legitimacy and relativity to the lessons it hopes to impart.

The frank nature of the program is too much, too soon for some families.

?When we get into the details of these very inappropriate lessons with the different types of sex, that belongs in the home with our moral values,? said Weitzman to the station. ?They?re teaching them oral, anal and vaginal sex. They?re teaching them all kinds of sex. They?re not focusing on the abstinence.?

Still, other parents disagreed with those that felt the subject matter too mature for middle school students, including mother?Tanya Manjarrez.

?Children nowadays are having babies at 12 and 13 so they need to know,? she reasoned to KTRK-TV.
