Even though it may be a few days late for an advent calendar, this one may be worth starting anyway. Instructables user mikeasaurus put together a beer advent calendar, where every new day in the month of december leads to a new brew worth tasting?all using some simple cardboard tubes and wrapping paper.
The beer is obviously the attraction here, but the rest of the advent calendar is super-easy to make at home. Just cut the cardboard tubes down to size, glue them together with craft glue, and then put the wrapping paper over the front and mark each space with a different date. Then on the corresponding day, you can pop through the paper and pull out the beer for that day. Normally advent calendars have candy inside, which you can still do with this one, but if you'd rather celebrate the holidays with a frosty beverage, it's a quick, fun project.
