Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos on Friday affirmed that his government will retain control of the peace process between his government and the FARC guerrillas that will open in Norway's capital Oslo next month
Santos said that the whole country should be involved in the dialogue but that "it is not about the process but about finding the end of the conflict," according to W Radio.
The Colombian president said that it was unlikely that representation would be given to different regions in the country because "it is not about that, it is about ending the conflict once and for all."
The peace talks were formally announced in August in Cuba's capital Havana following six months of secret "exploratory talks."
"We hope to get to these agreements soon, because the sooner we get to them the more lives we will save," said Santos.
Five main representatives for each party will travel to Oslo and Havana and they will have an equal number of alternative representatives arriving to a maximum of thirty consultants.
