The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 400 block of Bourbon Street. A man was shot in the leg at about 6:15 a.m., the department said.

The shooting on Bourbon is at least the third that officers have responded to around the city since late Sunday afternoon, and one of those incidents was deadly. In the first of the earlier shootings, a 30-year-old was slain in the parking lot of the London Lodge Motel in the 9300 block of Airline Highway in Hollygrove about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. There had not been a murder in New Orleans since Oct. 23.
Little more than two hours later, a man was shot in the hip in the 500 block of Socrates Street in Algiers.?Police have not named any suspects or motives in the attacks.
