Director of Automotive Technology Management - HigherEdJobs

Northwood University seeks a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills, industry experience and a strong record of
teaching/training to begin working in the Spring (January) 2013 semester at the Midland, Michigan campus. This is a staff position with a 12
month appointment.

The candidate will be expected to teach 1-2 undergraduate courses in Automotive Marketing and Management per semester, and teach lab courses using automotive software. The candidate should have automotive industry experience, a strong working knowledge of the Reynolds and Reynolds ERA? dealership management system, and be AFIP certified or be willing to seek immediate AFIP certification. The candidate is also expected to work in close cooperation with personnel at the Reynolds and Reynolds Company, and to serve as the liaison and point of contact for the university's ongoing participation in the National Automotive Dealers Association and the AAPEX/SEMA conventions. Periodic travel to conventions and to Reynolds and Reynolds locations is expected. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Automotive Marketing and Aftermarket Management department chairs with the annual Northwood University International Auto Show. Other duties may include supervising internships, curriculum planning and review; professional/instructional development; university committee activities; recruitment and retention activities; and other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned bachelor's degree in Automotive Marketing, Aftermarket Management, or a related business discipline
  • Experience in the automotive or aftermarket industry
  • Strong working knowledge of Reynolds and Reynolds ERA? dealership management system Experience teaching undergraduate courses or providing industry training and development
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide and diverse range of students and colleagues
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills in a variety of delivery formats
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree; MBA degree preferred
  • AFIP certification
