The School of Nursing Dr. Montalvan Timothy Joseph Machado (ESEDJTMM), located in Clark County is a recognized institution of public interest by Decree-Law No. 99/96 of July 19, falls within the Private and Cooperative Higher Education, regulated by Decree-Law No. 16/94 of 22 January.
It was created in 1993 by the Association for Education in Nursing Keys (APEEC), non-profit organization formed by local councils and the High T?mega Barroso and the respective Holy Houses of Mercy.
In furtherance of its purposes, the School was endowed by APEEC of its own statutes. Having conducted this review pursuant to. ? l of Article 172 of Law no. No. 62/2007 of 10 September, subject to ministerial approval, approved and published in the II series of the Official Gazette No. 196 - 09 October 2009.
The objectives that guided its creation were:
- Reply to growth in the region of the student population that wanted to join in Higher Education
- Provide the Degree of Nursing.
Corresponding to the aforementioned objectives, the school favored the creation of a course, whose interest and need be felt either in the region, whether in the country studies that led to the creation of the course reflected the awareness that the school had both its importance scientific and cultural, as the existing labor market for future graduates.
School Mission is to train and qualify professional nursing excellence, ensuring compliance with the dimension of scientific, technical, cultural and human, with reference to a holistic philosophy and in accordance with the requirements for higher education and polytechnic under the law in force .
In furtherance of its mission to ESEDJTMM aims to:
- Train Nurses of excellence within a framework of national and international reference in the various areas and levels of professional intervention;
- Develop research and dissemination of nursing knowledge, health and related areas;
- Promote continuing education and graduate of the licensees, enabling them to interdisciplinarity and cooperation;
- Provide services to the community;
- Support training in different areas of its intervention;
- To promote cooperation and cultural exchange, scientific and technical institutions with similar national and foreign, public or private, in order to value each other taking into account the European framework for integration.
- Participate in activities under the National Health Programs in the region in which it operates
Following the amendments to the Law on Education introduced by Law No. 115/97, September 19, and in accordance with the provisions of Decree Law No. 353/99, 3 October laying down the general rules that is subordinate nursing education, are working in the school the following courses:
- Degree in Nursing (CLE);
- Post Graduate Course of Specialization in Medical-Surgical (CPLEEMC);
- Post Graduate Course of Specialization in Community Nursing (CPLEEC)
- Post Graduate Course of Specialization in Rehabilitation Nursing (CPLEER)
- Post Graduate Course of Specialization in Nursing Paediatrics and Child Health (CPLEESIP)
- Master's Degree in Community Nursing
- Post Graduations: Management, Psycho and Continuing Care, Emergency and Emergency Hospital.
National reference in their statutes, but also for its quality and innovation ESEDJTMM consists of a school community committed to humanistic education, scientific, technical and cultural professionals socially recognized.
Strategically, we cooperate with public or private, national, and international conventions and protocols established to improve the scientific level of nursing, training and retaining health professionals, the promotion of research, dissemination of knowledge and service delivery the community.
