MLB Draft flooded with Florida Gators players and signees

In the first 15 rounds of the MLB Draft, Florida saw eight of its current players and six signees chosen.

Catcher Mike Zunino was the highest pick if program history at No. 3 overall to the Seattle Mariners.

Jesse Winker, OF, signee: Round A*, No. 49, Cincinnati Reds

Nolan Fontana, SS, junior: Round 2, No. 61, Houston Astros
Max White, OF, signee: Round 2, No. 73, Colorado Rockies
Steven Rodriguez, P, junior: Round 2, No. 82, Los Angeles Dodgers

Jon Sandfort, P, signee: Round 3, No. 103, Pittsburgh Pirates
Avery Romero, IF, signee: Round 3, No. 104, Miami Marlins
Austin Maddox, P, junior: Round 3, No. 118, Boston Red Sox

All players who are not college seniors have the option to decline a pro contract and play in college. Any high school players who go that route will have to play in college for three years before they are eligible again. The deadline to sign an MLB contract is July 13.
